THE newly appointed Director of the CEMA Cabinet Sub-Committee, Simon Chottu, has expressed deep honor and commitment as he steps into his new role.
Mr. Chottu, in a statement, emphasized his strong sense of purpose and dedication to revitalizing the Commodities Export Marketing Authority (CEMA) and leveraging the potential of Solomon Islands’ agricultural commodities to drive economic growth.
“Our mission is clear: to revitalize CEMA and harness the potential of our agricultural commodities to drive economic growth and improve the livelihoods of our people,” Chottu stated.
He also expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals who share a unified vision for the prosperity of the Solomon Islands.
“Together, we will build on the strong foundation laid by our predecessors, while also bringing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to the challenges and opportunities before us,” Chottu added.
Chottu highlighted the critical role of the Sub-Committee in not only shaping CEMA’s future but also ensuring that farmers, producers, and communities fully benefit from global market opportunities.
“By strengthening the link between production and market access, we are not just enhancing our economy; we are empowering our people, preserving our cultural heritage, and securing a sustainable future for generations to come,” he said.
The new Director emphasized his commitment to fostering collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the Sub-Committee, setting ambitious goals, and closely monitoring progress to achieve the outcomes expected by the nation.
