East Choiseul Constituency has officially wrapped up its 2025 Constituency Development Program, marking the full completion of its $5 million CDF allocation under the leadership of Honourable Manasseh Sogavare. The final phase of project deliveries—carried out in June—reached communities from Ghoghobe to Susuka, fulfilling commitments under the CDF Act 2023.

CDO Collin Bemama Qalokisa confirmed that all projects were implemented across the four mandated sectors: Productive & Resource, Essential Services, Cross‑Sectoral, and Social & Cultural. Communities received a wide range of support including building materials, water tanks, solar sets, 184 petrol drums, 15 OBMs of various horsepower, an ice‑making machine, batteries, and solar panels for the Kosara fisheries initiative.

Qalokisa said beneficiaries were “overjoyed” as long‑awaited projects finally reached remote communities, strengthening livelihoods and supporting income‑generating activities. He acknowledged the Ministry of Rural Development for its continued backing and thanked constituents for their patience during delays.

MRD emphasized that despite limited resources, the government remains committed to rural development and improving lives in remote areas. The ECC Office also extended appreciation to Honourable Sogavare for his leadership and confirmed that 2026 project deliveries will commence once national funds are released.
