“A trough lies over the northern parts of Solomon Islands whilst a general easterly trade wind flow persists south of trough.

“An expected east to southeast winds reaching 20 to 25 knots is expected over the waters of Rennell & Bellona, Makira and Temotu, And Southern Waters Guadalcanal, Russell Islands, and Malaita.

“Seas will be moderate to rough and moderate (2.5 meters) east to southeast swells.

“Expect poor visibility in shower areas and thunderstorms,” Maru said.

He warned that people in those areas should take precautionary measures as such strong winds have the potential to impact lives and properties.

“Sea travelers are urged to consider safety actions as such winds can produce dangerous wave conditions which are hazardous to small boats,” Maru said.
