KUKUM highway phase two road project survey works undertaken by Kitano Construction Limited are currently underway east of Honiara.
Local surveyor Peter told Environment Media that the work had started in October (last month).
He said the survey work initially started at Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Kukum Campus and is expected to complete at Don Bosco Institute, Henderson on November (this month).
Peter described the survey works as a long process and has called on all road and vehicle users to respect the work sign notices issued by Kitano Construction Limited.
The Phase 2 project is the continuation from where the Kukum Highway Phase One ended. The Project will cover the 6.3 Kilometers road from the Ministry of Fisheries to Honiara International Airport. This includes 4.3 Kilometers of 4-lane road to Lunga Bridge and 2 kilometers of 2-lane road from Lunga Bridge to the Airport.
