THE Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labor, and Immigration, together with key stakeholders, officially launched the 2025 Annual National Trade Fair on Friday at the Honiara Hotel.

The event’s theme, “Trade for Transformation: Rebuilding Our Happy Isles,” highlights the collective vision that trade is more than just business — it is a powerful tool for rebuilding stronger, more resilient communities across the Solomon Islands.

In his keynote address, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Commerce, Industry, Labor, and Immigration, Honorable Frederick Kologeto, said the fair aims to encourage economic growth, community spirit, and national pride.

“The theme calls on us to focus on trade not just for economic growth, but for a holistic transformation of our Happy Isles. This includes sustainability, inclusivity, and resilience,” said Hon. Kologeto.

He highlighted that the trade fair will help promote local businesses and support the objectives of the National Development Strategy (2016-2022). “This important event will be held at the end of June and into July, providing a platform for local industries to showcase their products,” he added.

The 2025 National Trade Fair will feature a wide range of Solomon Islands industries, including agriculture, tourism, fisheries, manufacturing, and renewable energy. It aims to strengthen trade relationships, encourage sustainable development, and boost both local and international business connections.

The launch marks a renewed national commitment to economic recovery, innovation, and inclusive growth across the islands, bringing hope for a brighter future.

“Together, through enterprise, creativity, and collaboration, we can rebuild our Happy Isles stronger than ever,” Hon. Kologeto said.
