SOLOMON Water announces that water supply from Kongulai is temporarily closed due to high turbidity caused by recent heavy rains. Turbidity, which indicates cloudiness from particles like silt and mud, can make water unsafe for drinking and use.
The closure is necessary to prevent unsafe water from reaching customers, as the high turbidity impedes disinfection processes and risks health.
The shutdown will affect water production at Tasahe, Titinge, Skyline, and East Kola Ridge, leading to low water pressure in West Honiara, Central Honiara, and parts of East Honiara.
Customers still receiving water are advised to boil it for safety. Solomon Water is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates. The company appreciates the public’s patience and understanding during this period.
