The country is expected to have fine weather by early next week.

Currently, a north-to-northeast wind is persisting over the Southern and Eastern parts of the Solomon Islands, according to MET supervising chief forecaster.

He said that so far the heavy rain warning is now canceled.

“The strong wind warning is yet current, especially for the southern and eastern part of Solomon’s,” confirmed Manoah Tepa.

“This is from the Tropical Cyclone which is now located East of Australia and the Coral Sea. Because of this system, we have the north-to-northeast wind flowing over the southern and eastern Solomons,” said Tepa.

He confirmed that the Tropical Cyclone is now located between Australia and New Caledonia, and is also expected to bypass southern New Caledonia in the coming days.

He said that the strong wind warning is expected to continue through the weekend.

“We are expecting the weather to return to its normalcy by early next week,’’ the supervising chief forecaster confirmed.
