A Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Approved Employer, Eastern Colour Pty Ltd is in Honiara to recruit workers to join its workforce in Australia.

Eastern Colour recruitment manager, Maryanne met with the Director of the Labour Mobility Unit (LMU), Christina Marau and her team to brief them on the purpose of their visit.

Eastern Colour Pty Ltd ( https://www.easterncolour.com.au/ ) is based in Stanthorpe, three hours from Brisbane, Queensland Australia and was established in 1975.

The company currently has 170 PALM scheme workers from other Pacific Island countries in its workforce and is here to recruit 50 Solomon Islanders. These workers will be identified from the LMU work ready pool.

It is also planning to increase the number of PALM Scheme workers in 2025 as they have increased their strawberry plantings by 15 percent.

The company is also looking to increase women participation in their work force hence a greater portion of women will be considered for recruitment here.

This is a huge win for the Solomon Islands as it will ensure increased women participation in the PALM scheme.
