• Leaks within your property (after the water meter): Customers are responsible for any leaks inside their property, leaks after water meter can lead to higher consumption and charges.

• Taps or valves not fully closed: A constantly dripping tap or valve can cause water to be used unnecessarily, adding to your bill.

• Unauthorized water use: If someone accesses your tap without your knowledge, this could lead to higher consumption.

• Estimated readings due to inaccessible meters: If our meter readers cannot access your meter because of obstructions like locked gates, the bill will be estimated based on previous usage, which may not reflect your actual consumption.

• 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞: This is based on the number of kilolitres (kL) of water you use, recorded from your meter, and multiplied by the applicable water tariff.

• 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞: This is a fixed fee for transporting water through pipe networks to your meter, applied even if your meter is turned off.

• 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐲: A fee to maintain water catchment areas and ensure a sustainable supply.

• Provide evidence if needed: If there is a discrepancy between your readings and our records, having your own meter readings can help resolve the issue.

Ensuring our meter reading team has access to your meter is crucial for accurate billing. If meters are obstructed, we may need to estimate your usage, which could result in a bill that is not fully reflective of your actual consumption.
